Short thought

A man saw not his fellow, neither rose any from his place for three days (10:23)

There were six days of darkness… during the first three, “a man saw not his fellow”; during the last three days, he who sat could not stand up, he who stood could not sit down, and he who was lying down could not raise himself upright.

(Midrash Rabbah)

There is no greater darkness than one in which “a man saw not his fellow” — in which a person becomes oblivious to the needs of his fellow man. When that happens, a person becomes stymied in his personal development as well — “neither rose any from his place.”

(Chidushei HaRim)

  Humor

Chutzpah:
A little old lady sold pretzels on a street corner for a dollar each. Every day a young man would leave his office building at lunch time; as he passed the pretzel stand he would leave her a dollar, but never take a pretzel.
This offering went on for more than three years. The two of them never spoke.
One day as the young man passed the old lady’s stand and left his dollar as usual, the pretzel lady spoke to him for the first time in over three years. Without blinking an eye she said: “They’re a dollar and a quarter now.”

Moshiach and the Future Redemption

He will also be the ultimate teacher, the conduit for the deepest and most profound dimensions of the Torah which will then be revealed by G-d.
